What are you hoping to flop? 2 pair?

Fold or raise pre.

As played I think I call.

You can hope for whatever you want...

You should preety much never call this bet preflop OOP like this...

As played calling the flop is the cheapest you can play from this point on (villian could just be C-betting)... If he fires again on the turn and your hand doesnt improve then I would be done with it...

I hope for nothing less than quads with this hand

I think this pre-flop call is decent IMO. Everyone is sooo scared of going out now before the decent $ starts. He knows this and could be raising any two to try pick up the blinds.
I still like my hand after he bets the flop and I definitely call. If he makes another big bet on the turn though I'm probably done with it.

As a line check, say we call the flop and he checks the turn, do you bet river? I'd make a 1/3 pot blocking bet...

I agree with your post, however what cards can improve your hand without scaring the hell out of you if he starts betting the turn? if you get a Ten or King and he pushes, you are in serious trouble. If an Ace or a Jack comes and he starts betting, you gotta fold. Even a 9 could be bad.
