Losing Bankroll
I've been playing poker for about a year now and on two separate occasions I have built up my bankroll onlyto blow it playing levels too high for me.
In 2 days I built my roll rom 600 dollarsto 13000 dollars and blew it playing when I was angry. I literlly blew it all in one hour playing cash games with50.100 blinds. After I lost it all i sat down for a while and it was then when the enormity f wat I done hit me. This is the 2nd time I have builtup a bankroll only to blow it faster thanit took me to make it? Any pro's or anyone with similar experiences have any help for me? |

Re: Losing Bankroll
I did that ten times in my youth. I think it happens to most people.
Several things can happen 1) One day you'll move up and play too high and you'll win. Then you'll be over the hump and comfortable at the new level. But, there's always another level still higher and chances are, you'll just move up again and blow your roll up there. 2) You'll realize that when you can beat a game for $12000 in two days, the smart thing to do might be to stay where you're at for a few more days. 3) You'll eventually get sick of going busto and quit poker. |

Re: Losing Bankroll
600 to 13000 in two days?!? wow! what a streak.
I'm no pro (far from it), but I've read a lot of advice on this that came from pro's: Stay at that level untill you have enough cash and move down when you should. Do not buy in for more than 1/20th of your bankroll. Do not play under influence and do not play when you are upset about something (poker or otherwise). Search this forum for bankroll management. Re: Losing Bankroll
Yes I've lost my bankroll twice now (in my youth both times) I dont like to move up until I have 20x the max buy-in. Stay at your levels and if your having a bad day, Quit or move down even more. hope this helps.
