Bellagio never check poker rate hours anyway. [/ QUOTE ] i think they do if it is your fist time. once you're in the system, then you don't get checked. |

Re: Standard Vegas Question
They checked me after I'd been in their system.
Unless you're used to 105 degree summers, walking anywhere in June in Vegas sucks, even if it's just across the street. Stay at the Bell. If you have a roomie, split the time between you. Three hours is easy. |

Re: Standard Vegas Question
[ QUOTE ]
I am not a fan of $200 hotel rooms. Gimme a clean bed, an AC, and a bathroom with working hot water and I'm pretty happy. I also wouldn't want to have to play 6 hours a day in one spot just to get a poker rate. FAR more fun to be able to flit around. I'd pick Ballys, Flamingo, Harrah's, or even IP (in approximately that order--Bally's is the best location for accessing Bellagio, and Flamingo is fine as well. IP and Harrah's are a bit farther away and IP is the bottom of the quality line for major center-strip properties. [/ QUOTE ] I completely agree with this, with the only exception being that I would stay at the IP asuming the rate there is way below the others. I just do not get wanting to stay at a place like Bellagio when the primary reason you are going is to Gambool, and are not going with a girl. I mean if looking at a fancy bathroom with neat soap in it is your thing then that's fine but I would much rather save the dollars, stay at someplece with a bed and clean room and pay 1/4 as much. They only thing I am doing in the room is sleeping anyway. |

Re: Standard Vegas Question
IP is pretty awful, regardless of what others say. IF, and I mean if you do stay there, be sure and get a room facing away from Harrah's. They have a dance club outside and nothing gets me tilting like trying to find an hour or two of rest and having to listen to drunken baffoons sing "It's Raining Men" at four in the morning regardless of how awesome that song is.
By the way, it starts again at 12, which is even worse. And it WILL wake you up. ON the 16th floor. Alot. Sigma |

Re: Standard Vegas Question
Three requirements for a hotel room:
1. Quiet 2. A/C or heat works 3. Shower water hot and strong And oh yeah. I hate those shower faucets that don't allow you to set how much and how hot independently. |

I have stayed at Harra's several times, and the rooms there are really nice, and a lot cheaper than Bellagio. Stayed there last year, and it was about $150/night. I think they increased their rates a bit though. Harrah's has a free shuttle to Rio, so you wont have to walk there. IP is like a run-down Motel 8. Avoid staying there unless you absolutely need a cheap room. I stayed there with a bunch of guys for a bachelor party. It was perfect for that. I wouldn't reccomend it for any other occasion. Definitely go see their car collection, though. It's really cool. They give away free tickets to it in the casino. |
