This is a really cool way to hide poker winnings. "I swear to God, taht 130k was stolen. There's even a thread about it on the intrawebs."

anyone want to check the last time either of these two were online? i'm disappointed this thread hasn't re-dramabombed - it should be like a Vietnam-style carpet dramabombing on this one.

grimstarr is underage and got this money playing illegally at the commerce, maybe this is deterring the cops involvement.

here's my thinking: why doesn't grim say he won the money online, and simply cashed big check, it's not going to matter where the money came from to the cops - and if the haul the guy in and he tells them about the underage playing at Commerce - grim could be like yeah - we went and played there so what - it'll be of little consequence

here's my quick take tho; grim is I'm guessing a small to medium build guy that looks like a 15 yo kid - not the kind of guy to really be able to go around, unless he rolls up on Uncle Junior WITH A GUN he is going to be replaying the scene from 'Training Day' where Denzel and Hawke take some toasters and blenders up to some gangsters house.

This kind of situation either gets resolved privately with guns or you go to the cops with the aforementioned story about where you won the money, I think that grimm should just call the cops - Does the Uncle live in LA/by Commerce - that wasnt clear. might be able to offer some help collecting from the guy, I know 2 guys I work out with who collect for some bookies in Ventura/SB County - PM me if you decide to go that route

OMG, this is the best part of this epic thread. You're carrying $100k+ and you're staying at Super 8?!?! You do know there is a Crowne in the casino, right?

For future trips to LA:

Am I the only one who thinks this is a load of [censored]? There is no way someone is smart enough to win hundreds of thousands of dollars in poker but so [censored] stupid that he gets it stolen from him twice in a week.
