Re: Problem adjusting to aggression in SH games and very frustrated
noooooooo pls dont ignore me.
but seriously, if youre still there, why do i know players that had 500bb downswings in those games if they were so easy? btw, those players are far better than you or me. the point is you have no clue about real variance. |

[ QUOTE ]
I'm still in the black for my career but I have taken a 20K hit since December and am down 345BB from my all time high (something I never imagined was possible). [/ QUOTE ] hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha |

Re: Problem adjusting to aggression in SH games and very frustrated
ssmallz,
Thanks for the reply. My default play in this situation has been to check and call down. Because it is now more expensive to do so, I'm reconsidering my options. However, 3 betting the flop with nothing or bluff-raising the turn do not seem like good options either. The check/call option fits in best with my playing style. I'll try to post some hands and get involved in more technical discussion of hands as that's one area that I feel I have been lacking in. |

Re: Problem adjusting to aggression in SH games and very frustrated
I would drop down, deliberately seek out lag fests and "re-learn" the game. If nothing else, it will rebuild your confidence, which is obviously a little down. I moved from Party to WPEX and the difference was obscene. You just need to adjust. Thinking LAGS are more than the sum of their VPIP and aggro factors, unlike the LAPs of the past. You cannot expect them just to follow you to the river with 2nd best and raise when they have the nuts. Instead, anticipate them raising with 2nd best and learn to suspect checks, and some bluff check raises.

Re: Problem adjusting to aggression in SH games and very frustrated
Thanks for the reply. I do think more practice at lower limits and studying might help things.
On another topic, I've noticed someone who appears to be a winning player on Pokerstars with a WtSD number of 55%. His game seems very strong but I have not seen such a high number before. With the increase in bluff-raising what is anyone's feel for what WtSD should be at 6-max? |

1) Don't ignore Victor. He is not always the most nice/polite poster, but he definately contributes to the discussion of strategy.
2) What player are you refering to on Stars with 55% WtSD? I know a lot of the players there in the medium limits. |

dragon14:
if you cant handle LAGish villains dont drop down to 3-6 or 5-10& at stars. Without proper table selection there is a good chance (without much variance) that you sat down with 4 LAGTAGish guys who are going to eat you up alive if you are trying to call down untricky cheaply with A high |

Re: Problem adjusting to aggression in SH games and very frustrated
join the club, i was slaying 20/40 at prima and party to the tune of nearly 3 bb/100 : ) And on fulltilt I am -1.5bb/100, over 3k hands, i quit playing there, stars is a little better and i run about breakeven there but i dont play over 10/20 either. These sights are ssooo much more rocky, the fish are gone, but usually there is a local B &
