This movie needed more Xerxes.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I agree. He was the most interesing character by far. Outside of his god complex he seemed like a pretty cool guy that was actually being pretty reasonable considering he had and army that was 3 to 4 times bigger.
Also, the motivation for him having those freaks with him was interesting from a psychological viewpoint.
Definately worth seeing, in the theater.
Very good movie. 4 (but not 5) stars. Could have a better plot, but who went just to see the plot.

To all the haters:

What were you expecting? I went into the movie expecting 2 hours of mindless violence with little plot and perhaps some nudity and sex. That's exactly what I got. Sure, I wish there was more plot, better dialog, and there were a few scenes in which the music didn't fit. In the end, I enjoyed my movie experience.

could have used better plot devices, better structuring

[/ QUOTE ]

Maybe. The movie is exactly as the graphic novel says and the graphic novel isn't 100% as the war said though accurate in many respects. If you start re-routing the plot structure you're then further changing how close the story is with history and then you will have everyone bitching about that as well. Double-edged sword.

[ QUOTE ]
more "awesome" fighting moments, more dramatic full scale battles

[/ QUOTE ]

Once again while keeping it accurate it would be tough to have "full scale battles" if I think I know what that means. They were cornered into a pass as a tactic to give them the power to take down an army infinitely larger than them, there were no full scale open battles.

[ QUOTE ]
more magical creatures and ensuing carnage

[/ QUOTE ]

This is where we are different. I thought the magical creatures were stupid and hoaky and actually wished there were less of them.

[ QUOTE ]
less bad speeches

[/ QUOTE ]

Much of his words are used in the Greek Army today.

[ QUOTE ]
less bad music

[/ QUOTE ]

What was wrong with the music?

[ QUOTE ]
much less of the dumb political crap with the queen and whatnot

[/ QUOTE ]

Why? Is that side of the story just supposed to stop?

Also you contradict yourself a lot.
