100NL home game - JTd in SB flops top 2 on monotone board.....
We're 9-handed. This is maybe be 30th hand with button, so no real reads yet. He understands position, seems to know what he's doing. I know he used to spend some time in a local underground club.... beyond that, however, he is a mystery.
Button: $80 SB (hero): $140 Folded to Button who raises to $4 I call from SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB folds Flop is: J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero bets $8, button raises to $24, Hero....

Debatable spot for sure. I'd probably call and put him in on a blank turn. Given the semi short stack, a flop push isn't terrible either.

Yeh, call and push a blank turn seems sensible to me. The problem is that there're lots of dangerous turns, so blank is a hard thing to define - you're looking at needing it to come a 7, 6 5 or 4 that's not a spade really.
I'd probably still push any non-spade though, simply because he could easily have AJ-QJ with the spade and thus pay you off.

[/ QUOTE ] This is the exact thought process I had in the hand... If we opt to shove, are we tryin to get him to fold a better hand, or to call with a worse one? I can't really see him doing either, outside of a high spade...
