I felt that anything smaller was either too small or committing me to going all-in on the flop anyway, so I just pushed pre-flop. |

This is not the reason. Had you been deeper, this could have been a perfectly acceptable line. However, a proper reraise here would be to about 1350 preflop, leaving less than 1000 to push into a 2800 chip pot, which is no good. If you're going to reraise, and be left with ~<1/2 PSB, it is generally better to just get it in preflop. |

That's exactly what I meant - anything smaller wouldn't have left me a reasonable size bet on the flop, given what the pot would have been on the flop.
1350 was exactly the raise I wanted to put in. Thanks for confirming. |
