[ QUOTE ]
Violators would be subject to up to five years in prison. [/ QUOTE ] I hope this is going to be a federal crime. I hear the fed pens are better. Do you think they will let us have a deck of cards in prison? Could be a fish tank if this bill is passed! |

Re: online gambling prohibition bill to be introduced next week(crosspost)
<<"The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act is vital to protect our children and communities from the problems of addiction, crime, bankruptcy and family difficulties that come from gambling." >>>
This line from the second article is absolutely sickening. That just what we need, our government to spend more time and energy saving us from ourselves. I am disgusted! Les |

Les [/ QUOTE ] I wonder if these legislators who are so interested in saving me from PokerStars are going to go after all the other various forms of gambling that are legal in certain states/localities that are big revenue sources: riverboats, Indian reservations casinos, horse racing, dog tracks, and especially ****ing Lotto. Re: online gambling prohibition bill to be introduced next week(crosspost)
Heres my updated view on the matter.
95% of elected representives are about 2 things 1. money 2. power The ammount of money that goes overseas due to rake is far less than the ammount that changes hands and can be taxed. So the money is in favor of not passing the bill. The reason the bill is being introduced is power. The representives that vote for it know it wont be passed. They just wanna earn favor from their hardcore christian states by saying they are attempting to solve the "problem". This is why it hasn't passed before and why it won't pass now. |
