Are you kidding? I hope I am being leveled here. Switch spots for a second w/ the villian..

Yes lets, but lets give ourselves a range of hands, say AK-AT, AA-TT, KQ, KJs a fair range given his position and action behind him.

All of these hands I would c-bet, so no skimming of his range here. After Villain (me) raises and thins the field, a dumb move if Villain had a flush draw, since obv overalls are better, so we count out a flush draw or any kind of free card play, raising for a free card with a pair of 5s and 4s is not likely given the preflop action, there is no way Villain is slowing down with top pair on the turn. Therefore, if I have any strong holding, top pair or better, I should check/raise the turn.

Stepping back into my shoes, if this is villain's thinking, then I am surely beat if he calls then c/r the turn. For him to 3-bet would mean he is basically guaranteeing himself 1.5BB, instead of 2. Yea, half a BB does add up.

I posted this hand because it required knowing your opponent more than anything, and because of the way the play in microstakes have changed. Let go of the SSHE style of play to some degree and actually play poker.

I fold to the flop 3-bet or (if I don't want to r/f the flop) I fold the turn. As played, I fold the river. What do you beat here after you already told him that you're not going to fold?

Even if he was betting A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] all the time, his flush just came in.

He cannot also glean enough information on the flop about the strength of my hand (for example, his 3-bet is optimal if and only if he had a better set than I did).

Could you go through this again without switching back and forth between you being villain or not?

We raise in MP with above mentioned range and c-bet the flop. A cold-calling villain, who we have pegged as TAG and not-braindead raises, everyone folds. Action is to us, we're HU. What's our thinking now again?

While you're switched with the villain, what does he think your range of hands is for him to do what he does?

I would three bet preflop. Play heads up hopefully and get 1.75 BB in there for you guys to fight over.

Yes, we could be going back and forth , but I do not believe that the villain is thinking at a level above me. This is why I didn't consider what he thought what I thought what he thought.

I don't know what he could have possibly put me on, obviously something not strong, otherwise he would have stopped betting.
