$8/hr at $100 wow look out.

[/ QUOTE ]

well I'm multitabling obv... but either way that wasn't supposed to be a brag, OP asked for stories so I posted one

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I think you meant to say 8PtBB/100 which is much more than $8/hr at 100 and 200.

[/ QUOTE ]

yes this is what I meant to say, I 3-4 table so 24-64/hr depending on how many tables / what stakes. Still not a brag--plenty of posters here play way higher/better than me, but that's at my best at my current skill level.

Maybe some of these people are bad poker players but I bet quite a number of the "beggars" and "degenerates" are winning poker players at some level.

[/ QUOTE ]

u have no idea wat percentage of poker players are long term winners do u? (hint: its wayyyy less than u think). this whole thread is retarded. If a good player is busto, he doesnt beg, he gets offered staking deals.

Yeah it's about 10-20 percent. If you had read previously I said game recognizes game though. If you are actually good and trust your own judgement you should be able to recognize a good player.

Just the phrase 'about 10-20%' is absurd. There is a big difference between the two, and hint, it's a bit lower.

I do like your stance on charity in general, however.

ya i was definitely under the impression that OP meant situations like mine, where you might offer a staking + coaching deal to a promising micro stakes player or something where you arent really gonna turn a huge profit but you do it to give back. im def not about charity in the form of just randomly giving some dude some money.

[/ QUOTE ]

Me either. This thread got off course. Some of the responses are just so depressing that I got off on a tanget.

The truth is I know that poker players aren't really going to be taken seriously like golfers or any other non standard profession because of the gambling element.

Yeah I'm done with this thread because it's really pointless.

Can you stop typing hint. Actually my number is accurate. 10 percent are strong long term winners. With 10 percent being marginal winners.

Some other guy typed hint also. Instead of typing hint just type what you think the percentage is. It's kind of obnoxious to attempt to make someone search for a number that they already believe they know. I'm not five years old.
