Re: poll: best blogs?
Paul Phillips' blog is consistently interesting, even though he doesn't post on poker any longer and doesn't appear to be playing much if at all.

Re: poll: best blogs?
The best blog that I ever read is the ‘groanblog’
http://groanblog.livejournal.com/ With no disrespect, the writing there makes shaniac look like a complete piker, and I like shaniac’s. It is thought provoking and can be the funniest thing ever when the author puts his mind to it. The early entries had me literally gasping in laughter (read the one on Antonio Esfandiari). I would read it no matter what the material. It just happens to be about poker but it sort of isn’t too if that makes any sense. It hasn’t been updated in a while, but I still check it out every week hoping for a new entry (the entries can be very long). I’ve wrote email to the blogger many times asking him to update. I’ve gotten replies promising a new entry but it doesn’t seem to ever happen. I never found out who the anonymous author really is, even though there was some rumors it was Phil Laak. If so I would be surprised but I’ve heard it from a few people now. I've also heard that it is Paul Phillips writing in disguise. Maybe it doesn't get updated because Paul has quit poker as Howard Treesong says. I wish he would blog more often. You can thank me later. |

I like much of what he writes, except that he has a tendency to be rather too long-winded for my taste. I'd be quite surprised if that were in fact Paul. Some wags suggested that GROAN was an acronym for Geary, Carson, Wiedeman, Phillips and McClain, but I never bought that theory. |

Re: poll: best blogs?
I enjoy reading Terrence Chan's blog.
It's not really strictly a poker blog but the blogs that are about poker are usually a good read. Not to mention he also blogs about another passion of mine, Mixed Martial Arts =) For those interested, his blog is via a livejournal account. Username terrencechan. |

Re: poll: best blogs?
Terrence Chan's blog is awesome. Bill Ivey's blog was cool for a while, but now he's not updating as much.
