Default rar extraction is slow

when i extract a dvd iso image from multiple rar files it is very slow now. it is taking like 10 minutes to extract one dvd image. it used to be a lot faster so I'm not sure exactly what is going on.

opening task manager shows winrar using ~10% CPU and only 3.3megs of ram, where System Idle is running at like 80% CPU.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

Maybe you need to defrag. DVD images are big files, so I suspect that the disk is the bottleneck, not the CPU or memory. If your hard drive is fragmented, espcially if it is getting close to full, that could slow things down.
