On Poker Stars you can see the cards that the losers had by looking in the previous hand history.

Why not just allow the player to choose? Flip Cards/Don't flip cards.

I think they are mostly concerned with the spectators for whatever reason here. In tournaments they flip the cards so spectators(such as those watching the WSOP) can see what both players hold. It would be awkward to watch an online tournament and just see the winners hand though while watching a cash game this is standard.

Meanwhile, I'd rather they flip the cards for at least the players involved or for everyone dealt into the hand. They could still keep the spectators in the dark, but not flipping the cards for players that can easily go to the hand history is pointless.

Anybody knows whether Prima opens the cards at showdown?
And, btw, we can add Crypto to the ones that do it.

Thinking I lose a hand due to a horrific turn or river only to find I actually won has probably erased 5 years from the end of my life.

Heh. I sometimes move another window over the table when I'm in a push showdown. I don't even want to know what he has until after the hand is over, let alone sweat the random pixels of cards popping up.

This is the thing I hate most about FTP. I wish every site did it like Stars only not so damn slow.

There is far less urgency in a ring game all-in, and therefore far
less drama. There is no need to create extra drama "for the cameras"
in a ring game, and therefore the player's right to muck their losing
hand unshown is preserved in such games."

[/ QUOTE ]

Personally, I feel like not flipping the cards up creates too much drama.

Cake flips them up. I know it technically gives an advantage to the rail and makes people a shade less clueless...but screw it, I'd rather have fewer heart attacks, just flip them over.

if I was playing 10/20 NL on a site where cards weren't flipped over, I'd probably have killed myself by now.

Ever since star put up the instant hand history where u can see the mucked cards I don't see why they don't just flip them up like Tilt. I hate it.
