I've spent enough time playing in Black Hawk to know that there is no way in hell you are making $40/hour. Any dealer or regular player would confirm that it's not possible to make anywhere close to that. Why would you even try to come up with such a bogus figure in an anonymous forum?

I apologize for coming on too strong, or for suggesting that you were trying to be anything but helpful. Since that site only lists a few casinos, and none in Cripple Creek where I play, it sure did seem limited in scope. However, I should not have jumped to the conclusions I did.

FWIW, we get a ton of Colorado players at Sandia Casino in Albuquerque, NM. Some very good games there.

For what it's worth, I'm actually break-even, but coming off a session where AQ < K3, KK < A7, JJ < T6, etc.

It is very possible to make $40/hour or more in a single session, but not long term. I've had a couple sessions of $60-70/hour up there, but absolutely not, in the long term. With the multidonkeys in each hand, it's a pretty high variance game, which can make short term hourly swings pretty wide.

Uh, those bad players are the REASON I can make $40 per hour.

Of course, I wouldn't be surprise if you and the person who originally questioned my records can't do it. I've never seen anyone else playing 2-5 even a fraction as well as I do, so I wouldn't expect anyone to be matching my win rate.

It looks like casinos will be losing their exemption to the indoor smoking ban in Colorado, but according to an article in the Colorado Springs Gazette (Smoking Article), State Sen. Majority Leader Joan Fitz-Gerald, whose district includes Black Hawk & Central City, was hinting that it may be appropriate to raise the $5 limits in return. Unfortunately, nothing has come of this since then.

P.S. I concur that the Sandia is a nice place to gamble - my in-laws live in Albuquerque, and when we visit, I invariably drag the gang there for a few hours.

I've spent several hundred hours playing in Black Hawk. I'd be surprised if 5% of the players had better long term results than I do. It's usually a game where you have to showdown the best hand. What do you do that makes you think you are the best player in Black Hawk? Again, $40/hour seems absurd, especially when you consider a rake of up to $5 and a $1 or $2 jackpot drop, plus tips. In my best runs of over 20 hours I've made $28/hour as a maximum.
