You just gotta toughen up and build up a callus there!

I actually always get this on my left hand and mainly from the old style NES controller (the "+" part). I just started feeling it again while playing Kid Icarus -- it really takes me back...

I used to get this all the time playing TMNT: Arcade game from that damn jump attack.

I think I eventually put some tissues around it.

If you can't get a callous built up, use some moleskin or athletic tape

When it hurts really bad, take a break. But eventually you just need to toughen the skin there. That's what happened to me when I was 8 years old playing Space Harrier on my SMS: my thumb hurt pretty bad from pressing the fire button.

NES style injuries...gotta love em. Moving up and down in that diagonal motion to avoid people in Super Tecmo Bowl for the NES had me a hurting unit many a days. Hey I was playing for the Super Bowl though...nothing was going to keep me out of that game.

Gotta tough it up and build a callus! For me this wasn't tough since I also play guitar, which at first hurts too.
