How often does this happen?
I hope this doesn't get locked.. because i want some input..
Yesterday, i played 1k hands.. i got Aces 7 times... They lost 6 times .. i only won when it was folded to me preflop.. Also had set over set 3 times. I know there is variance.. but this almost just seems super bad luck.. Has anyone had this happen? Not too many people can say AA is their biggest losing hand for the month. |

Re: How often does this happen?
You are obviously frustrated.
You're focusing on the wrong things. Use Poker tracker to evaluate how you played the hands not the results. |

Re: How often does this happen?
Variance = A statistical interpretaion of luck.
It's brutal to go through it, but each of those set over sets that victimized you will come back the opposite way eventually. Just keep evaluating your play like Rick said and let variance work itself out. |

Re: How often does this happen?
Don't worry, go over your hands get a friendly study buddy to just check for you as you may be blinded and need some confimation u played o.k. - variance happens to us all there's BBV forum if you want to post it.
Posting these kind of threads is frowned upon alot, if u must post, do it in the No Content Low Content microbrew thread or better BBV -they're hardended vs these kinds of posts. Oh and in before the lock |

Re: How often does this happen?
Post some of the AA hands around here, often when I hear people whine that there AA are getting busted SO often is when they go to far with or play it to passively preflop...
Also in before the lock. |

It is ... I 6 table 4h a day and set over set happens ... say twice in a week Maybe you should think about how to play aces postflop. |

Re: How often does this happen?
Yeah sorry about the frusteration, i will probably be posting the hands later when i get home...
A lot of them i was a huge favorite post flop too, with marginal calls... I can atribute some to bad play... but yeah its the breaks... And in terms of playing too passive .. that is not the case. |

Re: How often does this happen?
How often do you lay down AA unimproved? Keep in mind that unimproved AA is just the highest possible pair - and if villain is willing to put a lot of cash in the pot he can usually beat one pair.

Re: How often does this happen?
[ QUOTE ]
Yesterday lost a big chunk of my roll, 25 went very bad and I tried 50NL, first hand I get KK all in versus AA (thats not hard :P) and lost. Then moved up to some juicy 100NL tables and my pokerbuddy watched, lost around a stack with stupid call downs but won around 60BB with nice plays. Made a semi-bad (imho, especially seeing villain play other hands) laydown but probably right (I put him on a (big) draw). Talked to my buddy some, and we were convinced it is +EV for me to move up to 50NL, If I lose 2,5 buy ins im gonna grind it back + more at 25NL. Wish me luck [/ QUOTE ] Whats your bankroll looking like right now? |
