I am usually suspicious of these donk bets but I think if he had a K he would play it more aggressively on the turn too see if you have AK.

I would call and call up to a PSB on the river, but I am definitely too passive in these situations. If you are ahead you are probably getting as much calling him down as you would rasing in this spot.

looks like he's testing the waters with a four (possibly 55-88)... I will call here and pop a safe river card (<8, probably T/J as well)... i think we can easily fold to a reraise and extracts full value out of a four here.

Small bets are either a weak hand or the nuts. You are way ahead/way behind, so raising is pointless. You could be protecting your hand vs overcards with a raise, but that opens the door to all sorts of uglyness (bloats pot, you pay off a K, he won't fold a higher PP, he can bluff you out with a reraise).

You could very well have the best hand and he's giving you a great price so call. I would call most bets on most rivers too, an big bet (>1/2 pot) on an ace probably being the exception.

If he checks the river, then this could very well be a value bet but I would be very careful about that. A lot of things have to go right for a value bet to be more EV than checking behind.

call and make a bet on the river
he prob has a 4 but could have a K and think you got the 4 and making a bet to make you believe he is bluffing but thats looking in it deep

just call and see what he does on the river

Villains at NL25 generally are zero-level thinkers, i.e. they only think about their hand and not about what you might have. There are exceptions of course, and if this guy is one of those he certainly is not putting hero on a 4 since we raised preflop.

Most likely he has a 4 or PP and is betting for info (which is usually bad play) to see if we have missed overs.

And I am suspicious of 5 K decks.

OP, call down and consider a smallish value-bet on the river if checked to providing you feel villain isn't too likely to bluff-c/r.
