Either just locally or nationally. I asked arod in his UNT thread becuase I am always curious for some reason what different universities are known for having prestige in.
Illinois State University is apparently nationally known for its education field. Certainly it seems to be respected within the field anyway. This makes sense as Illinois State was a "normal school" when it originated, ie., a college specifically for educating future teachers. In addition I guess we are pretty well known for nursing students. I don't know too much about this aspect but I'm guessing it is much more of an "in state" prestige. So indulge me and enlighten others, what is your college "famous for" in terms of prestige in specific academics? |

Lots of things. At the undergrad level, the most world-renowned is likely theatre. Graduate level, business or education.

I feel I should add, to make sure that you include what school you're from. Since I have no idea what the first 2 people are referencing.
