Went to see the band Cracker in concert in late 93 or early 94 or so.
Afterward, everyone was talking about the impressive opening band that nobody had heard of called The Counting Crows.
They really were pretty impressive.

That's funny - I have the exact same memory. I took a girl to see cracker and was more impressed with the opening act.

The Distillers.

back in highschool they played the small crappy punk club we went to every weekend. they weren't very big and I had never heard of them, but I was instantly a fan. it was awesome because I got to be inches from Brody Armstrong (now Brody Dalle). god I fell so hard for her.

Yeah, mine was taking a girl also who was a big Cracker fan.
Actually, she won the tix by being the 14th caller to a radio-station or something.

If you happened to also see this show at Bogart's in Cincinnati then that would be even weirder.

I also saw LifterPuller (now The Hold Steady) about 6-7 years ago when I went to see one of the other bands on the bill.
