Hi,
I have a question about position. I heared so many versions what the position might be on a 9 handed table. Let's go (this is the way I count positions): Seat1:SB Seat2:BB Seat3:UTG (Early) Seat4:UTG+1 (Early) Seat5:MP (middle) Seat6:MP+1 (middle) Seat7:MP+2 (middle Seat8:CO (late) Seat9:Button (late) But in some books they say, that the Early Position ( includes also the BB and UG) They count 1 to 2. Then count from 3 to 6 (middle position) and 7 and 8 is the late position. What is now correct. For me it makes no sense to put the BB under the early position. Or do they make differences between Pre-Flop and Post-Flop ? I am so confused, please help me!! |

But you have to put the SB although under the early position!

I read in No Limit Holdem Theory and practice that he order the positions in this way for 9 players:
Button and Co (Late) seat one and two after the Co (Middle) the other seats between first middle position and the BB (Early) In this case the Ealry Position has three seats. In a 10 handed game the Early position has 4 seats. I think this is the best way to look at the Position question. In my opinion to count the BB into the early position Pre-Flop is wrong, because he is the last to act. But after on the Flop it is true to say that the SB is in first position (early). Do you have any thoughts to share with me ? It would help me alot. |
