i bet the flop and go from there. As played, just call the turn.

the way you played this I think you have to call turn bet and river. By checking flop he thinks you missed it and he could be betting with anything on the turn, but theres no point in building the pot after the turn card. So call, and call. I would expect him to flip over a weaker A, 2pair alot of the time,
