going to vegas, need some advice on mid stakes nl cash games
with online poker winding down (at least for me) im most likely going to vegas for the summer(possibly longer depending on how it goes). Now i know that predicting a winrate is nearly impossible, but i would be interested in what type of money a solid 3-6/5-10 6 max online pro could expect to make playing live. I have never been to vegas before, but plan on taking 30-40k to play the 5-10/10-20 nl cash games. I used to deal poker, and have a lot of experience with live poker in general, and have been a fairly solid winner in the midstakes on party/full tilt and ub over the last year.
so basically, if anyone has any advice or anything they think i shoudl know lets hear it thanks guys matt |

Re: going to vegas, need some advice on mid stakes nl cash games
I'll just make a guess, but if you're decent, know what you're doing, playing 10/20 you could probably make $60ish an hour after rake and taking into account how slow live is if you play well. You may have to stay up late for some good games, and you'll have a lot of downtime waiting for a table sometimes.

I agree that the $60 estimate is a bit low. I think you could easily make that playing $5/10 if you play pretty well. Live games are much softer than the equivelent stakes online.

Re: going to vegas, need some advice on mid stakes nl cash games
I think you can easily make $200-300/hr at 10/20 if you are crushing the game. I played 14 hours-ish at the Commerce 10/20, and was up $2600. And I ran bad. Bellagio 10/20 is slightly harder but not much harder.

Re: going to vegas, need some advice on mid stakes nl cash games
seems about right, im a 21 year old college student, and although its a bummer not being able to crank out 200 an hour anytiem u want online, but as far as summer jobs go most of my friends make liek 10 bucks an hour. Ha while 50-100 bucks an hour is far from being a high roller it sounds like a pretty fun summer job to me. how soft are these games? and does anyone know what casinos spread what games on average? and how much do u think id have to pay for a place somwhere for a few months? thanks guys -matt |
