exactly. Surprised they could get a former senator at all for something like this.

Does Bolcerek have much of a chance of having coffee with any of those guys?

D'Amato has been there.
And while he didn't exactly go out in a blaze of glory, I'm sure he still has friends there and knows people and can actually get some people to listen to him.

And many of those people are actually on the Republican side of the aisle.

Probably won't convince too many to change their minds. But it's a start.
And he's actually using GASP!!! logic about the whole online-poker thing.

Getting a former senator involved with the PPA could be a huge thing I'm thinking.

IMO all the better if he's a little shady. This is not a national issue. Internet gambling doesn't need to be sold to the american people. All that is needed is access so that the right amount of money can get into the hands of the right people.

Many old senators becaome lobbyists once they are finished. I agree that his rep isnt great but at least we have someone who knows the system, and understands what makes Washington tick. I think overall this is going to be a good thing for the PPA. At least he has enough name recognition not to be consistenly ignored.

Yeah but get someone who has worked with the current Congress. Like I said, I like Al but he's not the right choice for what needs to be done.

This list is from 2005 but most of these peeps are still in business and def a better choice than Al.

Don't be so harsh on yourself. Point out where in my post I suggested using a current Senator and then shoot yourself in the foot.

Ummmm, just getting ANY former senator who is sympathetic to the cause is HUGE imo.

Feel free to contact every single one of the lobbyists on that list and see if they are interested in devoting any time at all to this issue.
