Bud Selig is one of the worst things to evber happen to the game.

[/ QUOTE ]

There's one group of people who think Bud Selig is possibly the best Commissioner baseball has ever had. They're the owners of the thirty MLB teams.

Major League Baseball franchise values

1. New York Yankees: $1.026 billion
2. Boston Red Sox: $617 million (bought in 2002 for $380 million)
3. New York Mets: $604 million
Average team: $376 million
28. Florida Marlins: $226 million
29. Minnesota Twins: $216 million
30. Tampa Bay Devil Rays: $209 million

Be sure to check out the historical valueations such as the Red Sox which have gone from a $230 million frachise to a $607 million franchise in eight years.

Just about everything I've ever heard from the owners about Bud Selig has been very positive. How much does the value of a business have to go up before you give credit to the guy running the company?

Good point. N*Sync sold a lot of records, too. I guess Lou Perlman was good for music.

That's funny because Bud was telling us 5 years ago how baseball NEEDED a salary cap because only a few teams in the league were making money.
