Most Germans do not speak English very well. But they certainly understand those stupid jokes. It's just that anyone who uses the third reich and the holocaust etc. as material for jokes to taunt someone playing online poker looks so incredibly stupid, tasteless and respectless towards the victims, that it makes me really sad about how ignorant one can be. And before someone says "I only make fun of their accent." : I have never seen anyone make jokes about the Germans in a chat anywhere, where above topics where completely excluded. It's just poor.
