Re: I go ALL IN on the First Hand
[ QUOTE ]
You don't know if you have fold equity. You have absolutely no idea - that is why you shouldn't move in on first hand - never, unless you have a monster. [/ QUOTE ] I think you have some fold equity here. Although Villian could easily put you on AK/AQ/KQ with or without hearts, he just might not want to get all in against you with J9. It's incorrect to say you dont have any fold equity. Plus, if he folds, you've set the tone for the match. If he calls, as mentioned above, you probably still have 8-14 outs. |

Re: I go ALL IN on the First Hand
You might be against a complete donk. You don't know what are the odds of being against a complete donk so you don't know if you have fold equity.

More information
Here's a little more. This is a $50 tourney. It's not a turbo, but it's at a site that plays really fast HU tourneys, so effectively it's about the same as one.
I will post results if people are interested. The big debate, it seems, is about how we can't tell this guy is a donk. Two small pieces of information tell me that he's not, so far. 1. He's playing a $50. 2. He checkraised. This info obv. can't determine anything for sure, but when you know nothing else about the opponent, it tips the scale away from donk, IMO. EDIT: also, since this tourney plays faster than usual, making moves like this become better |

Re: I go ALL IN on the First Hand
this is fine but raise a little less pre and bet a little less on flop and then since stack sizes are deeper, a shove will fold more.
