Running a home poker tournament, What do I need ?
I will be running a tournament this Sunday 130 dollar buy in no limit event. I have about 20 reservations so far with 3 tables fitting about 7 players each.
We plan on running cash games afterwards and taking a 3 dollar rake to cover expenses. How should we go about doing this, how do I make sure all 3 tables are getting raked. Should I exclude myself from all the games to make sure everything is run properly ? Any advice will be appreciated. |

You should charge a flat fee for expenses if you must. Trying to take a rake in this situation is a terrible idea for several reasons. |

I'd avoid the rake on the ring games. If you want to raise money to cover expenses, add it to the buyin on the tourney (something like 130+10 or 130+15). That money, plus the usual donations of food and beer that your friends will probably bring anyway, should go a long way towards covering your expenses.

trying to collect a rake without permanent/competent dealers is just ludicrous
