Default ($12) Pocket pairs OOP

=== Hand #1 ===

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t40/t80
9 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: t2035
UTG+1: t1790
MP1: t990
MP2: t1460
MP3: t1775
CO: t1200
Button: t1425
Hero: t1360
BB: t1465

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
2 folds, MP1 raises to t240, 4 folds, Hero?

The villain has been limping quite a lot in previous hands, but never raising. Should I just smooth call him and re-evaluate on the flop or should I reraise? How would you play this?

=== Hand #2 ===

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t100/t200
7 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: t2710
UTG+1: t1690
MP1: t2320
CO: t1765
Button: t1000
SB: t1975
Hero: t2040

Pre-flop: (7 players) Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG calls t200 (pot was t300), UTG+1 calls t200 (pot was t500), MP1 raises all-in t2320, 3 folds, Hero?

MP1 is a decent player that might be capable of stealing, but has been very calm for some time. What would you do here? Call or fold?

#1 I jam.

#2 I fold.

Neither are very close given your information IMO.

first one is an easy push.
#2 is somewhat close as a decent player is pushing here AQs aswell as TT+ (maybe 99?) and AK ofc. yet, he'd probably not push with KK+. but, youre still in a healthy shape and theres no need to gamble right now when you can use your edge later on. I'd fold.

#1 guy seems to be attempting to commit himself to the pot, id push, but i can see an argument for a call i guess.

#2 This spot is so player dependent for sure. If i were mp1 id have something like A9+, 77+, maybe even wider. I think in game i might call here getting pretty good odds on a range im ahead of. Maybe my shove range is bad here tho since im pretty shove happy against 2 limpers.

I really think we have to fold hand 2. We're pretty badly murdered against most people's ranges here. You're just not gonna see 77 or A9 often.

Hand 1) Given his previous behavior, a big raise/push here is appropriate.

Hand 2) Easy fold.

Hand 1 I always brainlessly shove everytime. Hand 2 is close but I'd shove JJ for sure there.
