if you are in a sng and the blinds are 15/30 youre faceing a bet and a reraise 2 allins with 2600+ in the pot. you have AKs with 120 invested.(there was action preflop but i wasnt in the tourny) you have to call almost 1300 more.... do you call? i guess i can reveal the hands.. first all in had J9o, the 2nd QQ. thanks everyone. ps. i said GAMBLE and ecumulate chips hahaa

If I knew I was up against J9o and QQ I would go for the 42% chance to triple up. You could just as well be up against QQ and AJ which eliminates an out and makes it a much closer call. And of course you need to be worried about AA and KK.. If I didn't know the other's cards, I fold and take notes on what the winner pushed with.

We don't (and we never do) know exactly what cards we're up against so the point is moot. But, I am pushing a 42 % chance to triple up every time. It pretty much assures me or being ITM. Pot odds are important in tournaments too, not just cash games.

all good points. the preflop action was this.
EP bets 60 with blinds 15/30 with QQ, MP with AKs makes it 120. LP reraises all in for 1251. EP goes all in 1360 to 1410. MP with AKs calls. has both covered.
the fact that it is a sng makes it less nec. i agree, but if its an early MTT, to me, i think its ok to gamble alittle there to triple up. building the chipstack.
but even in a sng early, you triple up there you are in great position to cash. (he won and took over as chipleader vs a huge chipleader) while this may not be what you call the "right" play, i dont think it should be called the worst overplay of AK ever. that was the argument.
