Sklansky has a high IQ, an aptitude for math and is a genius at poker.
Having said that, in my view he lacks basic social skills and good judgment outside of poker. Card Player likes to say (or at least used to like to say) that a good poker player would do well at just about anything.
I disagree, as that's not at all necessarily the case.
No doubt Sklansky is great at poker, but I don't think he would've had anywhere near the same kind of success in the business world. Aside from his personal quirks and lack of discipline, his judgment is sorely lacking.
I understand he sold half of his interest in 2+2 Publishing years ago to Malmuth. How many millions of dollars do you think that boneheaded decision has cost and will continue to cost him?
