I'd like to see a movie about the grocer who was basically in charge of the blacklist and turned it into a business. There's an American Dream for you.

I would make a film about Wilfred Owen, the greatest of the British war poets of WW I. The scene of his mother being informed of his death as the church bellls rang out celebrating peace (a true story) would be heartbreaking. [/ QUOTE ] Gas, boys! Get the masks! I would like to see a movie about him too. |

A movie about Genghis Khan would be great. Also one about Marco Polo and Kublai Khan.
A movie about the Black Death would be really great. What I've read about it has always been stuffed full of incredible drama and horror. Also, movie about the Western powers blasting their way through China and promoting the opium trade would be great. That was a gruesome time and there were terrible results, and it also changed so much China's perceptions of itself. Also, the Mongol invasion of Japan would be great. |

Dom, I was going to alert you to Mountains of the Moon based on your previous post in this thread; however, I should have known you had seen this one. A terrific film, I agree. Why do I have the feeling that we may the only two here who has seen this one? BTW, Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld series features R.F. Burton. John [/ QUOTE ] that's right, it does! I haven't read Riverworld since I was in college, I think...have to check that one out...wasn't there a TV series based on it a few years ago? |

Oh, and a biography of the original Vlad Tepes(Dracula), with credit given for his big role in keeping the Turks out of Europe, would be good. Christendom felt very threatened back then, the politics were beastly, and the cruelty was plentiful anywhere you cared to look.

... a movie about Gengis Khan [/ QUOTE ] Truly the most poisonous subject in Hollywood. See "The Conqueror", one of the worst movies of all time, and one notorious for having killed half the cast and crew, since it was filmed downwind of an atmospheric atomic test site. Nicknamed "An RKO Radioactive Picture". IMDB Link For "The Conqueror" |

I'd make a movie of the historical fiction novel Flashman at the Charge, which features the charge of the light brigade.
