Default Re: Can a Christian play poker?

I'm a christian and I play poker. There is nothing wrong with the game as it isnt putting faith in luck as you play for a 'long run' winning profile. Christians believe games that are luck based regardless of the time played is bad as it is putting trust into something that is not God for a greed purpose. I also assure that there is nothing wrong with disco! that is fanatic to take things to that absurd level! Fanaticism is a problem in every religion and is what causes problems. I know many christians who play poker for money, it's a great game!

I'm not particularly well versed in biblical teachings, but i would assume that the Christian objection to poker doesn't stem from the fact that it's based on luck, but rather the fact that fishes experience it to be (rather than believe it to be), and that this interferes in their lives in a negative way overall (i'm on a run, just one more orbit, i'm "due") not because it's "it is putting trust into something that is not God for a greed purpose" (whatever the hell that means)

The bible prescribes certain courses of action for logical reason. Think of the ten commandments: all perfectly valid moral precepts for leading a happy, fulfilled and morally upright life: don't be jealous, respect your mother and father, don't steal, lie, etc. the idea that the bible somehow has to be interpreted is quite frankly, moronic and leads to people doing silly things like not eating pork (there's a reason for this too: in very hot countries pork would go poisonous much more quickly than other meats, and therefore it was too dangerous for people to eat, hence the precept.) and donating money to the 700 CLub.
