Re: First post... AK no good here?
Played fine, now fold. Around here a poster came up with something called the Baluga theorem which can be found in the sticky I think. It basically says that you should seriously re-evaluate (read: consider folding) a one pair hand facing a turn checkraise.
He's got you beat here most of the time, I fold. |

Re: First post... AK no good here?
First off, welcome to the forum!
You should be 3-betting here, preflop, ESP. in position. Makes the hand play easier. Ugly turn card. As played, having not 3-bet, I am laying this down. Baluga says that 1-pr hands should seriously be reevaluated to a turn C/R. That being said, other than not 3-betting preflop, I like how you played the hand and now it's time to muck. Find a better spot. |

Re: First post... AK no good here?
Gotta fold here, but I agree that 3-betting pre-flop would have been the go. Make it ~$2.50 and you'll be able to narrow down villain's range significantly if he calls, and even more if he re-raises. Post flop looks good assuming you folded the turn.

Welcome
The problem here is that you only have one pair! It canīt stand that much heat... But felix is right you should have defenitely 3 bet preflop, you have the button!! This makes the reast of the hand easier to play too b/c first of all you cann narrow his range down quite a bit and usually at this level noone bets into the preflop raiser unless heīs got a ligitimate hand. Then cbet the flop! |

Re: First post... AK no good here?
Raise PF in position. Flop is fine. I'd fold the turn here. Most likely he has two pair or a set.

Re: First post... AK no good here?
Please please please raise preflop to $2.5 .. postflop is perfect. (You could check behind on the turn, it's generally dry and the one hand that we're afraid of is AQ.. and it got there. As played though, turn fold is good.
