Especially if the opponents are are loose and wild as the average Cantebury games tend to be (assuming thats where you played - 9 handed 30/60, apprentice were my hits).

I could be wrong but I doubt Canterbury players have names like "shizamm" and "willzdman13" and "NoddyBoffin".

Once I led the flop and realized it was time to fold with 3 bets back to me, I thought that my call preflop was not correct.

P.S. This was online not at Canterbury.

Default Results

Flop Raiser(preflop 3 better) had KT for 2 pair, Flop 3-better (preflop capper) had AA.

Easy fold preflop, simple reason. You are most likely up against AA or KK, and if you are not up against AA or KK another opponent has AK and you are hoping to split a pot (if you both hit) against QQ, JJ or TT.

I mean you play poker to win money not to 'never fold' AKs preflop. This is just not a good situation to play 2 high cards, that's all you got.

I wouldn't chase a flush against those opponents

IMO this doesn't make sense. We were in a tenuous spot preflop and now we are in a world of hurt. We could easily be (a) murdered or (b) getting freerolled or (c) chopping.

do you realize how big the pot is? reverse implied odds, probably behind, but if you're calling a cap oop in a 5 way pot then you have to go with top pair. otherwise you're basically admitting you made a mistake calling preflop. i haven't played this game in like a year but prelfop looks like a fold

You convinced me... the probability you will hit a 2-flush board is 15.52% which is enough to always call here.... You are guaranteed to get action on the flop... and have Huge implied odds...

Would it then be worth it to call pf with any suited A ? Assuming that no other hands but a flush can help you, this is the way I see it:

15.5% Two hearts flop
+0.48 3.0% Heart Turn, any river (16 Opp BBs)
+0.52 2.5% No heart turn, heart River (21 Opp BBs)
-0.50 10.0% No heart turn, no heart river(5 of my BBs)

83.6% <2 heart flop
-1.67 Always fold flop (2 of my BBs)

0.9% 3 hearts flop
+0.13 Always holds up ... (14 Opp BBs)
=======
-1.04 Net BBs

Wins 6.3% 1.13 BBs
Loses 93.7% -2.17 BBs

I am not taking into account flopping trips or hitting flush and losing to a boat...

With the information you've given us, AKs is never a fold preflop. But if you're hiding some read that the capper is so rock tight he only caps AA, then yes.

I don't mind the flop fold as it appears you're drawing slim to dead with that action and two spades on the board.

[/ QUOTE ]

You have top pair with top kicker and are getting 9 to 1 to call. Forget the hand reading. Pot is too big to fold.
