I really liked this ep. No mysteries revealed but I love Hurley's backstory and there was some nice, albeit mudane character interaction. It's nice to see the characters just have some fun or deal with some personal problems rather than the larger problems of the tribe as a whole.

I had no business whatsoever liking this episode, but I did anyway.

This was a total throwaway episode, as predicted last week. Even I didn't think the ending was going to be that lame. Mark my words, though - next week's ep is going to be HUGE. The main on-island story, anyways.

[ QUOTE ] From the very beginning of this episode it was clear that it was going to be a "fluff" episode and when watching I treated it like that. [/ QUOTE ] That sets aside the point... namely, why are there fluff episodes at all? They could have humor without it feeling like we are watching the sequel to Heavyweights. [/ QUOTE ] I don't mind fluff episodes as long as they are entertaining. During last weeks episode I kept looking at the clock because I thought to myself they only have 5 more minutes to reveal this huge secret otherwise it will suck. This week, I never really looked at the clock, the whole plot of the episode was pretty obvious, but it was entertaining had good character interaction, had a break from the deterministic flashbacks that we have seen before. |

Not every episode can be OMG amazing like the Desmond episode or whatever. I'm fine with some mundane interaction every once in a while because I love the characters and whatnot. I've never been the biggest sawyer fan, but I laughed at him a lot tonight. I miss all the characters being in an episode all the time like this one. So I think that was part of why I enjoyed it. I NEED some Locke backstory action next week though. Him and Desmond are my favorite characters. Kate is seriously annoying the hell out of me, overacting or something. Least favorite character this season (even moreso than Charlie). Anyway, I was fine with this episode, and even last week because of their simplicity. This show will likely be on for another 2-3 seasons and we can't expect every single one to be mindboggling. Brad |

I knew all about Hurley's finding the junked car and the story with his dad back in December. I just don't post that stuff because everybody here flips out about spoilers. |

Uh, wouldn't they have been to steer the van even if they hadn't started the engine? [/ QUOTE ] Power steering, clearly. |
