Re: $225 I boat up on the river, should I raise?
[ QUOTE ]
hahaha sngs are so funny. btw, given posts like this you guys should be bluff raising way more than you do (from my understanding of how much the 100+ crowd bluffs)... [/ QUOTE ] Not disagreeing with you in general, however raising this river still sucks IMO. |

Re: $225 I boat up on the river, should I raise?
This is interesting. My first instict was obviously to raise. Looking at the hand I'm not so sure now.
I guess he could have an oddly played AA/KK/QQ/JJ/TT here. Those hands are probably not calling a raise. He could have a backdoor flush of some sort, though it seems unlikely because what 2 hearts is he calling with preflop and on the flop.... I'm not seeing too many possibilities. There's just not much that beats you though. 99 is the obvious one. 66 I'm willing to go broke to. 33 is unlikely but possible. I guess.. call? I feel dirty saying that and it just seems wrong... Very interesting hand. Versus the vast majority of players I'm raising, probably allin. Ryan |

Re: $225 I boat up on the river, should I raise?
Let me add: I understand just calling rivers with things like top pair, two pair, trips with a weak kicker or straight/flush draws on the board, low straights, baby flushes, etc.
But this is a boat. I'm just not calling here. I'm raising. If I go broke, so be it. SNGs are simply not long enough to be passing up full houses. |

Re: $225 I boat up on the river, should I raise?
This hand is actually the best proof how said it is playing sng`s today.
If we`re already at the point, where we discuss not to raise a boat...wow.... (although its prolly good here Times will come, when we`ll fold a boat to a half PSB, because Villain is a nit and always has Quads...give it 2 more months, and as long as everybody`s not busto, we will see threads like that... |

Re: $225 I boat up on the river, should I raise?
If your that sure he is only making this bet on the river with 99 or 66, then he must know that you know and therefor doesn't make the bet and will attempt to check raise.
I raise in this situation. |

Re: $225 I boat up on the river, should I raise?
He could have hit 33 on the turn. I agree I don't see much else worth raising.

Re: $225 I boat up on the river, should I raise?
[ QUOTE ]
What calls a river raise other than 99/66? [/ QUOTE ] 78 of hearts. Also, if you raise a little more than the min, 78o would prolly call. Also, most pocket pairs, TT, JJ, def call and he could have those and be playing conservatively (his riv bet is funny but not impossible then). Also. He could have a 6, like 67, 56, 86, even though your read is he is tight, he got in cheap and may have just felt like playing it. Also, 9T is poss. Finally, if he really is tight, he could show up with AA-QQ here in addition to TT, JJ and might have been planning on a c/r move. Summary, small reraise is good, call or push against three bet is about the same EV IMO, and BigT was def right. |

Re: $225 I boat up on the river, should I raise?
what an interesting hand. doesn't he raise with 99 from utg+1? couldn't he have limped with 67s and made that bet on the river? since you said any hearts would fold on the flop i also think calling is the best option but what do i know
