shane,
i just saw your well and it has been a nice read. just wanted to tell you that i really enjoy reading your blog and also your posts here at 2p2. you have a realness about you and a cool style, not to mention a great poker player. my questions:
1) do you use any poker software while playing online such as pokertracker, hud, etc... i have never have mainly cuz i suck at technology, but i don't feel im missing anything.

2) i don't have hbo. what is the best way for me to watch the wire? can i rent it at blockbuster by the season? or is it by the episode? i've never watched a tv series on dvd before. but i really want it. thanks.

What's the most racist thing you've ever witnessed? How about the most racially insensative thing you've personally done?

No deep reasoning behind the questions, just thought you might have interesting answers.

Have you ever thought about becoming a chef and learning the culinary arts?

With your love of food and creative/open mindset I think you could pull it off.

Sup Shane, I am also a blog fan and inspired me to start my own but I'm too lazy to update it. Anywho, what do you think some of my biggest leaks and strengths are? How do you crush the 109r every time you play it? If you could have Eric Molina in a room tied up for 10 minutes what would you do to him? Do you still see yourself playing the tournament circuit in 10 years? This is RandALLin if you didn't know btw.

I usually listen to music or watch stuff on dvd or on my dvr while I grind online.

How much do you think this detracts from your results? Would you be able to play at all without this?

How about multitabling? How many tables do you usually play? If more than 3, what effect do you think this has on making reads?

I have a few questions about your writing. I am 23 and have been writing for years and am constantly working on this project or that, and as of yet have not finished a single one. So here are my questions.

1) Do you like most of what you write? I find that sometimes I love what I write, but quite often I find myself not really liking anything I put down too much. Is it possible to write a whole book, or article or whatever and really love the whole thing, or is that just not going to happen most times?

2) Who are your literary "heroes"? This could be someone who wrote your favorite book, or someone who consistently writes great articles or a publisher or whomever. Why are they your "hero"? If hero is a term you don't like, I'll settle for your favorite authors and books.

3) Have you read "A Million Little Pieces"? If so, what is your take on the whole semi-fictional autobiography thing that seems to be going on a bit over the last few years. It seems that the book you are writing is somewhat autobiographical, will it be all true, or will you use the based on real life experiences tagline to give you some freedom? Is one of those approaches more valid than the other? less valid?

Great well by the way. I see a lot of similarities between your overall....philosophy i guess, and mine. Thanks again for answering all of these peoples' questions.

You've been on TV a couple of times now. How different is it playing with all of the added distractions that TV presents? (Not just the fact that "I'm on TV!" but also dealing with the technical aspect from the other side. I've seen a couple of TV tapings and I'd think that the accommodations players have to make might throw them off their game a little bit.)

Related questions: How much does being seen on TV matter to you? Ever get recognized?

Do you only play NLHE tournaments these days?

Favorite poker game?

“My oldest friend introduced me to gambling when I was 21, teaching me blackjack at Sandia Casino”

Were you guys playing advantage BJ?
If yes, do you care on expanding? ie count method, betting units, method of play etc.
Have you learned any other advantage gambling games besides poker?

PS: Really enjoyed this well.

Greatest thread ever.

Hey Shane,

I was wondering what you do after you bust out of an event, or lose something significant due to your own mistake(s)? Or in general, what you do when you are on tilt or dissapointed in yourself when it comes to poker. What do you do personally, on a regular basis to improve your game?

I also just wanted to give you props for making a well post, and thank you for writing a great blog!

Lee
