Re: Unpopular opinions that you hold
Marijuana is a really lousy drug.
Every show on Adult Swim sucks except for Aqua Teen. People in perpetually "red" or "blue" states have no reason to vote in presidential elections. Dirk Nowitzki is offensively the greatest 7 footer to ever play basketball. The Cubs will win a World Series within the next 3 years. Mike Krzyzewski is no longer a good coach, and hasn't been for almost a decade. People that put eulogys in their AIM profile to commemorate one of their dead friends are inherently douchebags. Anal sex in porn is revolting. I prefer to watch basic cable rather than digital cable. The lag between changing channels, even flipping through the guide, is way too time consuming for a device that at one time responded instantaneously. College football is boring. With the exception of one or two models, Lexus vehicles are very bland in appearance. Andy Warhol sucks. For the most part, baseball teams are ran by a bunch of inept dinosaurs with a misguided perception of what really matters when building a team and evaluating players. Kurosawa films are painfully long, making his movies unenjoyable. A man cheating on his significant other is almost always inconsequential, but this isn't true for a woman cheating on her significant other. Nas' library is better than Jay-Z's. Avatars of hot women are stupid. |

Digital cable is essential, how the [censored] else am I going to know what's on? Also, DVR kicks ass. Otherwise I'm pretty much with you. |

I've never used the TV guide channel. How many channels do you actually watch anyway? I wish there was a way for me to a la carte my cable subscription. Give me CBS and Fox for football, NBC for late night comedy, TNT for the NBA and sporadic airing of Commando, WGN for the Cubs, the ESPN channels, Comedy Central, Travel Channel, and the Discovery and History channels. That's pretty much it. I do agree with you about the DVR. If cable boxes weren't so damn slow to switch screens, I wouldn't have a problem with them. But those lagging milliseconds are just shortening my lifespan. It's too bad they're necessary for me to watch anything in high definition, otherwise I never would have gotten one. |

Re: Unpopular opinions that you hold
- This life and our material world is illusion, only a metaphor for the Real Thing, whatever it is.
- Our experience is but a reflection of our minds. What is outside us mirrors what is inside us. - 1984 and The Matrix are two of our best metaphors for what's really going on. - Drugs are frowned upon because they allow us to see behind the curtain, as it were. - Nobody, not even the people in power, really knows what's going on. |

- I am better than everyone at everything despite what the facts say.
- Hockey is far more exciting than football. - The superbowl is as big of a disappointment as viewing Niagara Falls. |

Hockey is far more exciting than football. [/ QUOTE ] I would hope that this isn't the unpopular opinion. Even as someone who loves American football and wouldn't watch a hockey game on TV unless I was being paid $10/hour, I agree with your statement completely. |

I would certainly never vote for Sosa for the hall of fame, but he's 5th on the all time HR list! How can he not be seen as a better [ QUOTE ] power hitting RF [/ QUOTE ] than Strawberry, Murphy, Walker...?? [/ QUOTE ] Sosa is almost undoubtedly the biggest fraud in the history of mlb. If it wasn't for roids, hgh, and corked bats, the guy wouldn't have sniffed 200 career HR's. Regarding Walker, if Strawberry played the bulk of his career at Coors Field rather than the big time pitcher's park that is Shea, he would of broke Maris's HR record. Dale Murphy is close, but he also played at a big time hitter's park and Straw had more power. Most people grossly underestimate the disadvantage for power hitters playing at Shea. |

[/ QUOTE ] So the answer is yes, you are completely discounting Sosa because of roids. That's fine if you do, so long as you recognize that if you DON'T, then clearly Sosa is a better power hitting RF than Strawberry. |
