[ QUOTE ]
is it possible for the IRS to do an inquiry at the pokersite you play? and i mean not the amount you cashed out... but ask for playing records/handhistories and do the pokersites give such information if tax services ask for it? regards [/ QUOTE ] zero chance of that happening/you getting in trouble for it if you are actually paying your taxes. |

But in any case if you want to rest easy it's always best to just pay what you owe. However I suspect that if one has made a relatively small amount of money gambling, that it's +EV to not report it. |

Curtains, I was not being sarcastic or anything.
What you say is true, I mean in the real world with all the tax issues out there if I honestly pay my taxes on the amount I won this year (as one long session) I really doubt I will ever get hassled. The jaywalking example captures the spirit of it well. Its just a nice reminder when I have the tendency to get all riled up over what is probably a moot point. |
