Default river flush against loose passive country bumpkin fish

MP1 (laggy) open raises
CO (loose passive country bumpkin) calls
Button (loose passive) calls
Hero in BB calls with 8s7s, my image is tight but havent won in a long time...
pot: 4.5BB

flop: Tc 6s 5c
check around

turn: Ts
Hero leads
MP1 folds
bumpkin calls
button folds

pot: 6.5BB

river: 5s
hero bets????

my thinking here is that i could possibly bluff out a bigger flush (pipe dream?)... there was 0 chance that he had a T, so there was no chance i'd get raised... i also considered check/fold... too tight?

No hand that beats your hand is going to be folded here generally. I think you are betting to get value from hand like A high, Pocket pairs, etc. It seems like a good spot for a bet/fold against a predictable passive player (as in this hand) and a C/C against a predictable aggressive player who will bluff the river with air.

With a double paired board, what makes you so sure he doesn't have a 10 or a 5?

I play against "country bumpkin fish" regularly & if there is one common demoninator between them all is once they have put chips in the pot & have caught a piece of the flop, they aren't folding. Especially if this is a limit game & that player is above 50 years old.

well I can't really figure out anything in this thread, but this is definitely *NOT* going to be a successful bluff.

you're going to get looked up by any six, pocket pair, and sometimes ace high. super easy bet IMO.

Yea, Agreed, easy bet, if we get raised, I like folding most of the time... I epxect to see alternate 2 pr and ace high all day.

I doubt that you would get raised...most of these type players as the OP has described them are calling stations. They just call unless they have the absolute nuts. That's all the villian has done in this hand.

I cannot possibly imagine a line other than bet/fold here.

i didnt know if he had a 5, but i was 100% certain he did not have a T because he would've either bet flop or raised turn...
