I love almost everything by Pink Floyd, but my two favorite songs are both more "mainstream" or popular I suppose: Wish You Were Here and Shine On You Crazy Diamond. For Wish You Were Here, the lyrics are absolutely incredible, especially the beginning until "Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?"

High Hopes from the Division Bell. Awesome tune.
I cannot participate in this survey. If you put a gun to my head and said choose only one song from PF to listen to for the rest of your life I take the bullet.

I recently obtained concerts from PF's 75 tour (before the release of WYWH), where they played early versions of Dogs (Gotta Be Crazy) and Sheep (Raving and Drooling).

I must say I was unimpressed. Part of it was that the audio is of poor quality. But the other part was that the songs just seem incomplete, despite their length. I can understand why they scrapped those songs for the WYWH album.

That said, Dogs and Sheep are both great songs, as released on Animals.

Right now, my favorite Pink Floyd song is "On The Turning Away". Awesome solo at the end, and the lyrics are great. The message of this song is very powerful.

Honorable Mentions:
Echoes
Us and Them
Wish You Were Here

I am glad to see "On the Turning Away" mentioned, it's probably my favorite Floyd song.

Why do people make these stupid "end thread" posts? First of all, it obviously isn't the end of the thread, as more people have been chiming in after that post. Second of all, try listening to an actual Pink Floyd album and not just the songs you hear on the radio and get back to me.

For the record, Dogs.

Fearless.....possibly their best song was never even played live. I don't think anyone plays it on the radio either. It is a top of the list song.

[/ QUOTE ]

Fearless is AWESOME!

I also like Run Like Hell.

also...that's the shittiest poll i've ever seen.

i did a trip report for a Roger Waters concert last august. The show was phenomenal. Other people that saw him in different venues also agreed. I'd see him again any time.
