Has been no post-flop history between myself and villain. He is 35/8/3/200ish. WTSD/W$SD 19/40. |

I bet turn.
If you are going to bet the river, you have to bet larger IMO. That bet is too weak. I don't think he is checking a better hand 3 times here... along with your weak beton the river, I think he *COULD* be bluffing. |

So, we thinking this is TT/Air on the river? I think I probably should have called it. Ignoring all the mistakes before it, who calls his river raise?

i bet turn as well. plenty of draws to get value from/protect against.
as for river, there's a pretty good chance he's bluffing imo. if he had a real hand he probably wouldn't check 3 times. plus he can probably tell by your line that you are weak. i'm not saying i'd be sure enough to call, but it's definitely a fishy looking play by him. |

I bet the flop.
As played, I would probably fold river. It is definitely a weird line by villain and you would usually have heard from any hand that is beating yours before now but these river check raises almost always indicate strength in my experience. I like your value bet on the river but I think you could have made it $40ish |

Re: 200NL - JJ on QQx board. River\'s gone wrong!
I kinda like your flop play. I sometimes even check AA here. i think its a sick way to play the hand on this board.
Turn you sorta have to bet, as everyone has already said. i like a turn bet because you can generally get a showdown if you would like to on the river, or go for another bet, depending on who the villain is. as played i think you have to call the river. I can't possibly see him checking 3 times here with anything that beats you. maybe he has QQ or TT or something really sick, but other than that I think it's likely hes bluffing. |

This is a spot where i could see a lot of AK hands play this way. The more you think about it a call here wouldnt be so bad.

Re: 200NL - JJ on QQx board. River\'s gone wrong!
Nothing wrong with check, check, check here. I'd pay of the river here but I think it is probably wrong. Problem is that with the flop/turn action and your river bet it is really hard for you to show up with a strong hand very often and even the most dim-witted hand-reader is going to realize is. Same goes for him--it's either a monster or airball. Price on the river is pretty good so calling can't be that bad.

Re: 200NL - JJ on QQx board. River\'s gone wrong!
As played, River bet is fine against a passive opponent, but I think this guy is a little aggressive to be making such a small value bet, especially if he is capable of making a c/r bluff on the river. Therefore, I would bet more for value or just check it through. I think calling this might be slightly -EV on the river without a better read. |
