seems like there is a trend:

NON-CA and VEGAS Casinos have the nastiest poker chips (e.g., Mid-West, Atlantic City, and South)...

-TheMan

(p.s. and the TAJ seems to get the most replies for absolute worst chips!)

May be the humidity or lack they're of. Just a thought.

Everyone's problems could be solved by teaching one manager-level employee at each casino to use this new website they have called "Google."

I'd like to add Orleans alongside Plaza and The The Cortez.

I also press chips together at the table and roll them around to entertain myself. Once while playing 4/8 I collected 16 of the nastist chips in my stack. Then I pressed them together in to 2 cylindars of 8 chips. I waited until a raise opportunity on 4th street and rolled by bets across the table to the horror and disgust of the dealer.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Gila River @ Wild Horse Pass. The worst I have seen, they may have new ones now though?

Taj chips are actually quite nice now - the room has improved a lot in my opinion.

This is true, but i am guessing the "dirtiest chip" reputation will stick w/ them forever.

Seminole Casino in Hollywood Florida, across the street from the Hard Rock.

The tournament chips don't even have the denominations visible anymore. If your are half near colorblind, you have to get the dealers to tell you how many chips to put in the pot. However, these are the easiest games in the world, so I just learned to have patience with the dealers and tolerance with the Indian tribes who are exploiting us poker players; by not even having decent chips for their monpolistic hold on decent poker tourneys in Fl.

I wonder if that's what killed Anna Nicole...

The President - St. Louis

bought a rack, started pulling out chips and had some that were cracked completely in two.

I haven't played in that many rooms (~6-7?) but my initial reaction was definitely the Taj. It's the only place that bothers me at all though. And the reason Taj chips are the dirtiest is that the Taj is full of dirty obese crazy people and they bring greasy food to the tables.
