I raise 2 1600 and provided both blinds fold will call any raise EP makes preflop or any bet on the flop. If u raise 2 2600 (ie EP stack) u r left 2 vulnerable to a r/r by 1 of the blinds. 1600 seems a good amount.

omg your girlfriend plays poker? I hate you. I like a raise to t1200 here btw. If he stop and goes, call obv. [/ QUOTE ] Having a g/f who plays poker isn't always a good thing. Mine plays poker, and she's supertilty and everytime she has a big pair cracked, or gets sucked out on the river, I have to hear about it for the next 15 minutes. I'm ready to lock her stars account on her, she's driving me frickin nuts. And I am on board with Noah's line. Raise to 12-1400. |

do you realize that the limper only has 2600 chips? you are going to get stop and goes a ton if you only make it 1200 pf I think that a raise to 2,000, a limp, and a fold are all better options than a raise to 1200 [/ QUOTE ] |

The statement that complicates this is that the EP limper is weak tight. I don't like the 1200 raise since you give the BB great odds to call. I think you have to raise 1400~1600 to discourage the blinds as much as possible and hopefully avoiding a steal attempt all the while encouraging a fold from the limper.

I try to get her to destroy a bubble but shes [censored] stubborn so i needed a collective of people to tell her how wrong she was. In the actual hand she limped and i told her that was very very bad and then she came up with some insane girl logic and i just zoned out thinking about brett favre throwing touch downs until she stopped and told her i'd post it here. [/ QUOTE ] An old wise man who was still married after 50 years once told me- "You can be right........or you can be happy, but you don't often get both when arguing with women." |

One thing I haven't seen mentioned that I think supports Noah's line:
If you raise to anything more than 1475 total, you will not be able to raise again if one of the blinds comes along and the EP limper decides to go allin. Example - You raise to 1600 total, the BB calls, and then EP limper moves allin for another 975 (had 2600, ante 25, limp 400, call 1200, then raise = 975). You now cannot re-reraise to isolate, you can only call, because your raise was 1200, and EP's raise is only 975. By making it say 1400, you can still discourage the blinds some, and even if they come in with their weakish hands, you will still have the option to isolate the EP limper if he goes allin preflop. And I think that is a likely scenario given his stack size. I think making it 1200 to 1400 is the right way to go. Be good, Augie |

Poker is a game that throws a persons emotions all to hell, and as sexist as it sounds women are a hell of a lot more emotional than men for the most part and often the two just don't mix. |
