Re: Sports Moments That Give You Chills
Another big game that I doubt anyone will remember.
I'm not a big hockey fan, but I just happened to watch the final of the 1996 World Cup. The final was best 2 out of 3 and the US and Canada split the first two. I believe they played the last one in Montreal and the place was rocking with Canada holding a 2-1 lead with a little over 3 minutes left. The US team managed to score an astounding four goals over the last three minutes and devastated the Canadians. You could have heard a pin drop after that.... |

This has always been a classic to me, especially for the commentary. Roche half killed himself to win the 1987 Tour de France on the back of this stage. He was linked to drugs a few years later but they all do it let's face it. |

Tiger Woods on #16 at the Masters [/ QUOTE ] I also remember that Nike had a commercial out within a week that showed this shot, especially when it paused on the lip of the cup, and said, "But come on Tiger, don't you think you could have centered up the logo?" |

Re: Sports Moments That Give You Chills
Just because I knew I was watching history...the first girl to score in a D-I football game, even though the game was a blowout. Hnida Kicks Her Way Into Record Book In a Lobos basketball game a few years ago, G Senque Carey got hit under the basket and landed on his neck. The game stopped for an agonizing ten minutes while the paramedics delicately moved Carey to a flatboard. Everyone in the Pit was stunned. Carey damaged his spinal cord, and he was paralyzed from the waist down. After rehab and surgery, he was able to walk again. Every time I see a game there, I can still picture Q laid out on the floor under the south basket. The score when Q went down was 27-15, Northwestern State. The Lobos rallied for Senque and came back to win, 60-56. Lobos roar back for win as Pit crowd roars for Q ScottieK |
