Default Toshiba Satellite A105 Laptop Display Problems

When I open my laptop the screen is gray. The display is on, but it's kind of like when you're on video 1 on your television kind of screen.

I've had this problem twice before, and all it was was a loose connection or something. Instead of me waiting for two days or so to get it fixed for something so minor, I want to fix it myself, as I need it for school. The laptop works on a separate external monitor, so I know other than the display, the laptop works.

I've googled how to take the display apart, where the screws are, but does anyone know specifically how to get into where the connection might be loose?

Thanks in advance.

This is normally a plastic type ribbon cable with 1 end located in the plastic screen housing and the other going under the keyboard. I don't recommend trying this yourself. A botched screen is a $1000 mistake. Take it to a local Mom and Pop's shop and try to socially engineer the counter rep to help you take it apart and fix the issue, or just pay the $50 to have them fix it.
