Yes. Is Casey really Chip or not? Some say it is, some say it isn't. Is the only Clue that Chip likes baseball and uses a baseball related name? Lots of people follow baseball.

his son's name is casey and supposed to be a very good baseball player. Hence the name.

It probably has something to do with his son's name, but "casey at the bat" is a famous poem about baseball.
