It looks like they have some of the info regarding payout on the Tournaments tab ( http://www.jaxpokerroom.com/Tournaments.asp )

Keep in mind the fee they take tends to be absurdly high, since it's the only way they make money. For example, I know Hard Rock takes a pretty sizable fee, AND THEN takes more off the top from the prize pool.

Example:

Let's say they take 100/15 on a SnG, then they'll list that the payouts are 500/300/100 (total prize pool of $900). Just be careful of it.

I played in a 50-person speed MTT, $45 buy-in, 50 people, paid top 3, only got $670 for winning.

that's sick, but i see the payout here in jax isn't much better. they keep 29% for themselves in those double shootouts. i did win that one before, but i was thinking of playing their "main events" next time. it's probably just as bad.
what an awful situation.

The Jax Poker Room is a joke. The vig is retarded and pretty much all the tourneys/donk-n-goes are turbos because they want to squeeze as many of them in as possible. I played in one donk-n-go to see how it'd go, and it was literally just push all-in with any reasonable starting hand and hope to double-up. No skill whatsoever and the payout ($200 1st, $120 2nd) is teh ghey and not worth it for the $45 entry.

The "main events" usually pay around 5% of the field. Last tourney I entered had between 160-180 entrants and paid top FIVE. I wanted to choke a bitch.

There's plenty of info on 2+2 about the cash games and everything in this thread is 100% accurate.

there are other card rooms in tampa, miami, jacksonville, and daytona beach. what sucks though is that florida law puts a cap on the max bet you can make in any poker game, which is $2. that's why the biggest games you'll find in these rooms is 1/2 limit. however, check out sun cruz casinos; they're gambling boats that run out of daytona, jacksonville, cape canaveral and treasure island. since they sail out into international waters they can spread higher limit and NL games. you only get to play for about 3-4 hrs. at a time, but the games are super soft.

This is ALMOST completely accurate. You will also find 2/2 limit hold 'em in Hard Rock as well as other poker rooms probably. (If my memory serves me correctly, the Derby Lane poker room I mentioned earlier is also 2/2)

sorry, wasn't thinking. you're right about the 2/2. also there's new "action" hold'em, which is straight 2/2 with a $2 ante every hand. as you can imagine, this game is pure insanity.
