Woo Hoo 15th Place in BC Women\'s Poker Classic (300 players)
I made it to the final table from a 157 women satellite live tourney to gain the $440 buy-in for the BC Women's Poker Classic NL live tournament yesterday.
After a long 9.5 hours, I busted out in 15th place to take home $1600 in winnings. I was 5 away from the final table which will be playing today and televised later. I have a lot to learn until the next tourney, hopefully I can do even better next time. I got lucky when I tripled up, was short stacked, went all in with Q,To two mid stacks called me, one with K,K, one with A,Qs blinds both fold. Flops J, 3, 9 rainbow Turn comes 5 River comes K Giving me, the underdog, a straight, a triple up with blinds too and the whole table staring at me with disbelief. That was the turning point for me and helped me make it through another 24 women. Vegas Cat

lol last years televised womens tournament was all limping in and minraising, then finally some girl CALLED allin with a gutshot when it got heads up
obv she hit it

Congratulations.
OP is proud of her success and has the right to be proud. I think that the opinion of most male players is that womens only events are inherently unfair. What is it about poker that makes a womens event necessary? Having womens events only sets poker and women back.
